Särkikoski Rapids

The area of the Särkikoski Rapids is one of the most beautiful places in Kantti, the southernmost village of Karvia. The waters in the Särkikoski Rapids come from River Suomijoki, flowing through Lake Suomijärvi which is known as a great bird lake.

There used to be a collectively owned water-powered mill at the Särkikoski Rapids. In the early 20th century, it was the custom of the local youth to meet on the banks of the rapids.  Today, the site is marked as a conservation area in the regional land use plan.

In addition, one of the geocaches in Karvia is located at the Särkikoski Rapids.
